How it works

From “can you fix this?” to live, in five steps.

Your agent does the work. ArtiFTP makes sure it only happens with your OK, in the folders you choose.

  1. Add your site.

Enter your host’s SFTP or FTP details. ArtiFTP tests the connection and encrypts the password before it’s stored.

  2. Set the rules.

Choose the folders agents can work in, what they can do in each one (list, read, write, delete), and how long approved sessions last.

  3. Your agent asks.

When it needs to upload, it sends a request with a plain-English purpose line.

  4. You approve.

Tap the link in your email on your phone, or approve in the app. The session opens only within your rules.

  5. It ships, and you stay in control.

The agent works within your rules, and anything else is refused with a reason. For a one-off exception, the agent asks again and you approve it with Allow once. If you’ve turned on an away window, it approves those requests for you, but still only inside your site’s folder. Watch the Activity screen and revoke any session instantly.

Works with standard SFTP and FTP, including GoDaddy, most cPanel hosts and your own servers.

Set it up once

One screen for the connection, the folder, the rules and the timer.

  1. Connection

Your SFTP or FTP login, stored encrypted. It shows as dots, to you and to everyone else.

  2. Folder and rules

Drill into the folder agents may reach, then switch list, read, write and delete on or off for it. Everything starts switched off.

  3. Session length

30 minutes, 2 hours, or until you revoke. You can revoke any session instantly either way.

Then, one request

Watch a request go from chat to live.

The same flow, beat by beat, on a made-up bakery site.

  1. You text your agent: “Swap the summer specials for the fall ones.”
  2. It builds the page and asks for access to /public_html/menu on northpinebakery.com, with a purpose line saying why.
  3. You tap Approve on your phone. The session opens with list, read and write, and no delete.
  4. It uploads specials.html and fall-specials.jpg into /public_html/menu.
  5. It tries ../config/settings.php. Refused: outside your folder.
  6. Your Activity screen lists the request, the approval, both uploads and the refusal.
  7. It tries to delete old-menu.html. Refused: delete isn’t allowed in /menu. It sends you a new request asking for that one delete.
  8. The new request shows the delete as an amber Allow once card. You turn it on and tap Approve. The delete runs once, on that exact file. A second delete, of summer-banner.jpg, is refused: Allow once already used.
  9. You revoke the session. It locks instantly and the agent can no longer connect.
